چکیده
Efficient monitoring is an open problem in the operation of anaerobic digestion processes, due to lack accurate, low-cost, and proper sensors for on-line key process variables. This paper presents two approaches indirect cheese whey wastewater. First, observability property addressed using conventional nonconventional techniques, including index. Then, model-based observer extended Luenberger observer, a sliding mode data-driven technique based on fractal analysis are formulated discussed. The performance capabilities proposed methodologies illustrated validated model with experimental data whey. Experimental pH measurements used approach analysis. sets correspond conditions (pH > 7.5 temperature (T) = 40 °C) favoring volatile fatty acid (VFA) production (30 g/L) simultaneously acceptable biogas (3420 mL). Results also show that observers were able predict satisfactory On other hand, provides reliable qualitative trends VFA chemical oxygen demand (COD) consumption.

Biogas production by anaerobic co-digestion of cattle slurry and cheese whey.
Biogas yield of mixtures of cattle slurry and cheese whey, rates of production of methane, removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD) were investigated at 35 °C. Stable biogas production of 621 l/kg volatile solids at a hydraulic retention time of 42 days in a mixture containing 50% slurry and whey was obtained. The concentration of methane in the bi...

Biogas yield of mixtures of cattle slurry and cheese whey, rates of production of methane, removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD) from the mixtures were investigated at 35°C. Four feed regimens (by volume) were studied. Stable biogas production of 621 l/kg Volatile Solids at an Hydraulic Retention Time of 42 days in a mixture containing 50% slurr...
متن کاملAnaerobic Co-digestion of Sewage Sludge with Cheese Whey under Thermophilic and Mesophilic Conditions
Anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge (SS) and co-digestion with cheese whey (CW) was evaluated in batch conditions under mesophilic and thermophilic regimens. Results indicated that the co-digestion can be successfully attained despite some inhibitory stages that may be initially present due to the accumulation of volatile fatty acids. Degradation of the mixture SS-CW followed a similar pattern...

Anaerobic digestion is an old biological wastewater treatment process, having first been studied more than a century ago. It is a multistep process in which organic matter is degraded into a gas mixture of methane and carbon dioxide by microorganisms. It thus reduces the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) of the influent and produces valuable energy (methane). The biological scheme involves several m...

Anaerobic digestion is the most suitable option for the treatment of high strength organic effluents. The presence of biodegradable components in the effluents coupled with the advantages of anaerobic process over other treatment methods makes it an attractive option. This paper reviews the suitability and the status of development of anaerobic reactors for the digestion of selected organic eff...
